Learn to Scuba Dive
Scuba diving is an avocation and hobby that is very community-oriented
and team-centered. It is an adventurous activity that embraces nature
and fosters in its participants a sense of responsibility for our
environment and one’s fellow scuba divers.

This spring,
your Family YMCA is offering the entry level PADI Open Water Diver
in association with Dive Connections, a PADI 5-Star Center. Here is the schedule:

Weekend of Diving at
Lake Phoenix |
Final certification dives will be done at
Lake Phoenix located in Rawlings, Virginia.
Complete
Certification Cost: $699
The cost of the programs include all
instruction and classroom materials, certification fees, use of scuba
equipment for pool and open water training and two days of diving at
Lake Phoenix. Students will need to
provide their own mask, snorkel, booties and fins. If they do not
already own this personal gear, Dive Connections has a
Personal Gear Package for
as low as $229.

(1) Hold your space with a
Deposit -
a $150 deposit will hold your space and we will send your materials
to begin your studies. The balance of the course fees is payable on the first day
of class.
(2) Arrange Personal Scuba Gear
- Every diver needs certain Personal Gear for comfort and fit; a
mask, snorkel, fins and booties. You just can't go diving without
it. If you already has these items, Great!
If not, our provider, Dive Connections, will provide a quality gear
package that will suit the rigors of diving at a reasonable price.

(3) Review the Medical
Statement - Once we receive your deposit we will be sending
you a medical statement and liability releases for your completion.
Please just fill them out and return them as requested.
