Louisa County High School forms SCUBA Club
At the initiative of science teacher Teresa
Tucker whose son, Cody, earned his open water certification this summer,
Louisa High School has formed a scuba club.Noted commercial diver Gary Jewel spoke to the club at it initial meeting and Chip Earle visited them on the second. A Discover Scuba program is planned at the direction of David Holladay of Holladay Water Sports of Gordonsville. The Discover program will be all afternoon on October 27th at the home of David and Jackie Holladay. The Holladays have a large heated indoor pool that they use to teach scuba diving to friends in and around the Gordonsville area. The event promised to be a great opportunity and experience for the folks in the club. SCUBA License Plates Initiative
Has Failed :(
We are saddened to report that the Virginia Scuba Plates program failed to
garner the 350 applications need to begin printing the plate.The plates were a great idea because having one would promote the sport and keep diving in the forefront of peoples minds, particularly non-divers who might not recognize what a dive flag is. Consider putting a license plate frame or sticker on your card that clearly states for non-divers your love of the sport. Refunds of application fees are being processed. Expect the process to take a month or so. Thank you for your support.....
